We believe community support is about strengthening vital connections with people and their neighbourhoods. We promote diverse and vibrant growth in Manitoba communities and encourage our employees to participate in events they care about.
To enhance the quality of life for all Manitobans by reaching out to communities with support, volunteerism and sponsorship of events and organizations.
Building strong relationships and encouraging employee volunteers.
Recent activities :
- The Manitoba Lotteries Habitat for Humanity Legacy Build Fund, a program which began in 2008 has provided $2.75 million to build 55 homes throughout the province. The fund is the first of its kind in Canada. The mortgage payments made by Legacy Build homeowners will make the fund self-sustaining, ensuring even more people find homes in the future.
- The Manitoba Lotteries Flight Deck supports amateur athletes in Manitoba and recognizes the efforts of their coaches and assistant coaches by awarding tickets for Winnipeg Jets and Blue Bomber home games.
- The Manitoba Lotteries Community Support Festival Program supported approximately 50 rural and smaller Winnipeg festivals, fairs or rodeos in 2013. The program unifies and celebrates the efforts of hard-working volunteers and assists in building stronger ties with our rural communities across Manitoba. Under this program, our Community Events team members travel all around the province, to provide in-person support during the festivities.
- The Asset Donation Program provides an opportunity for Manitoba Lotteries to relocate some of our gently used but obsolete items to charitable organizations. Organizations such as Winnipeg Harvest, Siloam Mission, Prairie Theatre Exchange, Rainbow Resource Centre and The Kidney Foundation have benefited from this program.
